First Aid Risk Assessment

The table below, compiled using information from the Health & Safety Executive, gives guidance on the minimum numbers of First Aid Personnel required in the work place. The HSE also strongly recommends that you include non-employees visiting your premises in your first aid provision.

50 to 100 - At Least 1 First Aider at all times.

More than 100 - At Least 1 additional First Aider for every 100 employed.

The numbers given in the table are guidance on the minimum requirements.
You should then have extra First Aiders to take account of the following:

Large Sites:
First Aiders should be in close proximity to all areas. They should be able to get to a casualty within 1 minute.

Isolated Work Locations:
You will need to consider provision in each area.

Shift Work:
Every shift should be adequately covered.
