This comprehensive Health & Safety approved course is for people intending to act as a FIRST AIDER AT WORK. It is designed to give the First Aider the skills necessary to give effective life support, diagnose & treat injuries or illness, and maintain care and comfort of the casualty.
The course has an emphasis on dealing with life threatening situations first - keeping the casualty alive until professional help arrives.

Students will learn a high level of practical skill and theoretical knowledge, so that they can deal competently with any situation that may arise in the working environment.

The course ends with an assessment and successful candidates will recive the FIRST AID AT WORK certificate valid for 3 years.

The course includes:

• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
• The respiratory system
• Care of the airway
• Care of the unconscious patient
• The circulatory System
• Control of bleeding
• Treatment of burns & scalds
• Treatment of shock
• Recognition & treatment of common medical conditions
• Treatment of poisoning
• The skeletal system
• Treatment of injuries to bones, muscles & joints
• Accident reporting & First Aid at Work regulations
 
Assessment method: Exam at the end of the course
